Mehbooba’s first public address after Mufti’s death on SundayPeoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti would deliver her first public address after the death of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed at party’s Srinagar headquarters on February 21, Sunday.

Since her father’s death, Mehbooba maintained silence over government formation but sought assurances from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the implementation of Agenda of Alliance, the Common Minimum Programme of the two parties.

Mehbooba would address the PDP’s workers convention on February 21, Sunday at PDP’s Srinagar party headquarters.

Besides Mehbooba, the meeting would be attended by senior PDP leaders including general secretaries, chief spokesman, and political advisor to the president.

With the meeting, PDP is set to gear up party activities throughout the State.

The convention, which has already been approved by the PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti will through open the membership drive in the state with an objective to expand the party’s base.

In this connection, a meeting was held today at party headquarters in this regard.

The meeting was attended by former ministers, legislators and prominent leaders including Altaf Bukhari, Asiea Naqash, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Anjum Fazilli, Abdul Hameed Kosheen, Ali Mohammad, Mudasir Amin, and all zone presidents from Srinagar district.

The meeting was presided over by party’s district president for Srinagar and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Aalam.

All leaders exuded confidence that convention at Srinagar will give a desired flip to party activity and take the party’s message to grass roots.

However, the leaders in the meeting unanimously focused as how the party agenda was in tune with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s vision and how it could be accomplished to the satisfaction of people at large.

The leaders reiterated their commitment and resolve to undertake every desirable activity under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti and hoped that her dynamism and courage would stay as an inspiration to sustain the prominence of PDP as the most viable political alternative in Jammu Kashmir.
