Expect a major breakthrough in Govt formation by March 1st week: BJP chief

‘Parleys held between BJP and PDP likely to yield positive results’

The state BJP chief Sat Sharma on Wednesday predicted an end of more than a month long deadlock over the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, saying a major breakthrough would be witnessed in March 1st week.

Sharma told KNS over phone that there have been parleys between the BJP and the PDP leadership in the past and that the discussions are likely to yield the positive results for the state.

Jammu and Kashmir is under governor’s rule since January 8 this year- a day after the former chief minister and the PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away in AIIMS New Delhi. Since then, the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is apparently reluctant in joining hands with the BJP again which has 25 members in the state legislative assembly.

The BJP chief, meanwhile, on Wednesday while talking to KNS said a major breakthrough would be witnessed vis-a-vis the government formation by March 1st week and that the party hopes of Jammu and Kashmir getting the elected government very soon. Sharma said so far the meetings held between the BJP and the PDP leaders ended on a positive note and that the deadlock is likely passing through its final stage in JK.
