A high profile sex racket has been uncovered in Jammu after a minor girl, forcibly pushed into flesh trade, disclosed several names before police.
Sources said that the 15-year old girl was arrested from Pathankot by Punjab Police a few days back with a local youth. They said that the girl, a resident of Aknoor and presently residing in PaccaDanga, Jammu, during questioning narrated to Punjab Police about her exploitation by high profile persons including politicians and businessmen.
During the investigation, the girl, as per sources, has revealed names of about 30 people to police, mostly businessmen and politicians. She has also named the people who pushed her into flesh trade.
The girl has been handed over to her family after her statement was recorded before the court.
Sources said that five persons, mostly businessmen, were arrested by police during raids and some politicians have gone into hiding after the girl revealed their names.
SHO Akhnoor, Pushvinder Kumar, told that raids are being conducted to nab the other accused. “The victim’s statement has been recorded in the court under CrPc 164.”
The SHO refused to divulge the names of the persons named by the girl. “Under law I cannot disclose the name of the accused. You will come to know after we complete the investigation.”
