Two non-Kashmiri youth try to unfurl flag on clock tower

Witnesses said that two youths were surrounded by a crowd while they were trying to unfurl flag at the clock tower in Lal Chowk.

The flags of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday appeared in Lal Chowk and adjacent Maisuma area on a day Yasin Malik-led JKLF is planning a sit-in protest in the area.

Witnesses said that two youths were surrounded by a crowd while they were trying to unfurl flag at the clock tower in Lal Chowk.

One of the youth, identified as Sachin, is a resident of RS Pura.

Reports said that Sachin, a student of political science at IGNOU, was unfurling the flag while his accomplice was making a video.

Incidentally, JKLF is holding a sit-in at Lal Chowk to protest the “choking of political space, arrests spree and restrictions” by the government.
