Verification of 13, 016 ReTs completed in Kashmir division

Scrutiny of regularized ReTs will be complete in next 15 days: DSEK

School Education Department has verified the testimonials of 13,016 regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem (RReT) teachers so far in Kashmir division
Verification of 13, 016 ReTs completed in Kashmir divisionDirector School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) Shah Faesal said it will take more 15 days to complete the whole verification process of regularized ReTs in some districts as some of the officers are yet to communicate the directions to the concerned zones in far flung areas.
Replying to a query about scrutiny of certificates of RReTs, Faesal said our prime concern and concentration was on RReTs and as of we have nothing to do with the ReTs (whose services are yet to be regularized).
The department had claimed to complete the verification of certificates of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers within seven days, but the scrutiny is still on in various educational zones.
Many offices are located in far flung areas where the department finds it hard to communicate the directions to the concerned officials thereby delaying the process. Some ZEOs are yet to submit the certificates of ReT and RReT teachers to the department,” officials in the education department said.
They said some ReT teachers in Kupwara district, who have allegedly obtained their degrees fraudulently, have not produced their certificates before the concerned authorities fearing departmental action.
“Even some ReT teachers who have obtained bachelors degree from outside the State institutions have produced 12th pass certificates for scrutiny which has made the process complicated for the department to identify the frauds,” officials said.
Director Education said the documents have been submitted from every zone but process of actual verification takes some time.
“Degrees have been submitted but the process of actual verification is a bit time consuming,” he said.
Earlier on August 7, the State Education department ordered verification of degrees possessed by Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers within seven days while asserting that it would go ahead with the screening test for them as per the High Court directions.
The Education Department authorities had said in compliance to the court directions, the degrees of ReTs obtained through study centers and distance mode from ‘shady’ institutions would be scrutinized and accordingly the screening test of those ReTs and RReTs would be conducted who are in possession of suspicious testimonials.
However the officials said some ReT teachers are negotiating with the concerned officials in their respective Zonal Education Offices for tampering their service records and produce their 12th pass certificates obtained from JKBOSE, for scrutiny.
“The entry of fraud BA or MA certificates in the service records involves the role of concerned ZEOs who earlier have entertained these certificates without any verification. And now the same teachers are trying to mutilate their service books,” officials said.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Farooq Ahmad Dar said the verification of degree certificates was going on but some zones are yet to submit the data.
“We have collected the information from various zones but some are yet to submit,” Dar said, adding there was lack of communication to the zones located in Tanghdar, Chamkoot, Khumriyal and Kralpora areas of the district.
Asked about the mutilation in service records, Faesal said it’s a confidential matter but if any such thing is found we will go for cross verification as we have directions from Education Minister. “We won’t allow any bluff.”
