Two new blocks of SNM hospital Leh commissioned

Chief Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh Rigzin Spalbar today inaugurated two new blocks of SNM Hospital, Leh in presence of former Minister and MLA, Leh Nawang Rigzin Jora and Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh. The new blocks have been constructed by PWD at a cost of around Rs 32 crore.
Two new blocks of SNM hospital Leh commissionedSpeaking on the occasion Spalbar highlighted the achievements in health sector quoting significant decrease in child mortality rate and death rate in the district. He appreciated the doctors, medical and paramedical staff for improving the health standards in the district with their dedicated and sincere services. He called for educating people and creating awareness right from childhood on health issues like balance diet, hygiene, preventive measures and sense of health care.
Speaking on the occasion, Rigzin Jora credited the doctors of Ladakh for laying the foundation of SNM hospital Leh.
EC Health Dr Sonam Angchuk in his welcome speech gave a detail on total expenditure incurred on the construction of the five new blocks of SNM hospital, Leh and also mentioned about the machinery and equipments including the oxygen plant, CT scan machine & building, ICU, SNICU, PUSC, Geriatric word, etc.
CMO Leh Dr Phuntsog Angchuk presented vote of thanks. The others present on the occasion included counselors, religious heads, P Namgial- former union minister, Nurboo Gyaltsan- former MLC, Padmashree Sonam Wangyal, Ex-en PWD, Ex-en PDD, other concern engineers, doctors and medical staff, namberders, sarpanches and contractors.
A cultural program was also presented on the occasion.
