Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of officers of divisional administration in connection with conduct of 6 day National Level 13th “Tour de Kashmir” cycling event.
The event is being organized by J&K Sports Development Association in-collaboration with Tourism department Kashmir. The event would start from October 3 and will conclude on October 09, 2015.It was informed in the meeting that the “Tour de Kashmir” which is a regular feature for past 12 years is scheduled to cover a distance of 350 Kms. in various districts of the Valley, besides 50 riders from outside State and 25 from valley are participating in the event.
Divisional Commissioner said that this event will boost Tourism in the state and shall also pave way for organizing bigger events as well. He further said that “Tour de Kashmir” expedition is going on successfully on one hand, while Kanya Kumari to Kashmir expedition on the other will further highlight state tourism.
Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Traffic, Srinagar, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Deputy Director Tourism, Kashmir, Deputy Director State Motor Garages and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
