Omar dismisses Nirmal’s allegation over ISIS flags

Says issue being raked up to hide failures, incompetence

Omar dismisses Nirmal’s allegation over ISIS flagsDismissing the allegations of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh that the National Conference (NC) activists were hoisting ISIS flags in Srinagar, NC working President and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said the coalition government was raking useless issue to hide their failure and incompetence.

“They (BJP) have government at Centre and the state. If they arrest any flag hoisting youth and prove that he belongs to NC, they are free to take him to court of law. When have I tried to save these people for such activities? Omar, according to the Global News Service (GNS) correspondent, told newsmen during the party’s membership drive here in this south Kashmir district today.

He was responding to Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh’s allegations that the NC workers were behind the hoisting of ISIS flags.

Omar asked the senior BJP leader not to make any statement in vacuum and to come out with proof, if any, about the involvement of NC activists.

“It is better for them not to rake up such issues to hide their failures and incompetence,” he said.

Lashing out at the BJP-PDP alliance, the former Chief Minister said that he had time and again said that the PDP-BJP alliance will have dangerous consequences for the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

“If you remember, when their alliance was formed, they had said that North and South Pole have come together. And I had said that, any person with little knowledge of the science can conclude that the north and South Pole combination will be a doomsday. So, it has been proved now,” he said.

Omar said that the alliance has caused immense harm to the state and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir was worsening every passing day.

“And we fail to understand that if these two parties have come together to benefit the people, then why is not that happening?” he said.

The NC working President also dismissed the claims of zero infiltration made by a senior army commander recently.

“Zero is not possible. It has been proved that the militant caught in Udhampur had sneaked into the state in Ramadan. He crossed through Kupwara and then boarded a truck to reach Udhampur.

He was given directions to attack on highway across the tunnel.
So, how can be infiltration zero?,” Omar said, while questioning the purpose of the check posts and nakas put on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.

“And that’s why I’m telling you that the situation in the state is worsening and the present government is sleeping. They should wake up from slumber or else this state will witness huge destruction,” he added. (GNS)
