India warned against plan to settle soldiers in Kashmir

Hurriyet leaders have categorically rejected the India’s plan to permanently settle its retired army personnel and their families in the territory, saying that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and the move will be clear violation of the international law.

India warned against plan to settle soldiers in KashmirThe veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar cautioned that the allotting of land to Indian soldiers would be a grave mistake on the part of Indian government. He appealed to the world bodies to play their role in stopping India from fiddling with the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview termed the plan as a conspiracy to change demography of Jammu and Kashmir.

Other Hurriyet leaders including, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javed Ahmad Mir and Muhammad Ramazan Khan in their statements said that they would not remain silent on this very sensitive issue, which was very much related to the existence of Kashmiri people.

The veteran leader Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, denounced the authorities for registering a case against Aasiya Andrabi for hoisting Pakistani flag on its independence day. He said that this was not unusual since Islamabad enjoys great love and devotion from the Kashmiris for its unflinching support to their right to self-determination. Hurriyet leader, Aasiya Andrabi commenting on the case said that Jammu Kashmir was a disputed territory and hoisting Pakistani flag on this unsettled land was no crime for which she or anybody else could be booked.

Speakers at a seminar held in Srinagar, today, to memorise prominent Hurriyet leader, Shaikh Abdul Aziz, demanded withdrawal of Indian troops from the occupied territory. Those who addressed the event included Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Muhammad Yasin Atai and Saleem Zargar.
