The J&K Football Association (JKFA) has suspended around 13 players and officials during last one month for their ‘alleged’ misconduct during matches even as the suspended players and officials say they were not given a chance to present their cases.
The football governing body has issued the suspension orders through its social media page alleging that the suspended parties resorted to misconduct during matches of various football leagues.
The suspended include, JK bank coach Manzoor Dar (2 matches), Mansoor Parray and Zameer ul Hassan of JK Forest (2 matches), Imran Ahmad Assitant CAPD coach (1 month), Jehangir Ahmad, CAPD player (3 months), Tanveer Ahmad of CAPD (2 matches), Zubair Ahmad of JK Bank (entire league), Nasir Ahmad of Jehlum Sports (entire league), Inayat Fayaz of Etihad FC (entire league), Shabir Ahmad Bhat (entire league), Ubaid Manzoor and Younis Manzoor of Young Ragreth (entire league).
Apart from players and coaches, JKFA has also suspended Al Fatah FC of Lal Bazaar for all remaining matches.
The clubs, players and former players have termed the action of JKFA as “autocratic” saying the “suspended parties were not given chance to plead their cases”.
“Usually when any sort of misconduct or violations of rules come to notice of organizing bodies they form a disciplinary panel in which cases of both parties are heard. However, JKFA has defied all rules and logic by refusing the accused players a chance to put forth their side of the story”.
The suspended Young Rangreth club players have said that they were not given chance to plead their cases. “No opportunity was provided to us to put forth our view point. We have sent a legal notice to JKFA and we hope we will get justice,” they said in a statement.
When contacted, JKFA District Srinagar President, Fayaz Ahmad Sofi declined to comment over the issue.
